Cat Stance – (90° degrees & 44°) The Cat Stance is made up into parts, 90° and 45°. In both cases the front leg is placed one foot forward of the rear foot. The front leg is bent and forward and resting lightly on the ball of the foot. One’s Imaginary Baseline is now running from the heel of the rear foot, and along the inside of the forward foot, and extending outward towards the opponent. Weight distribution is 90/10, with 90% on the rear leg. The rear foot rests flat and is at a 90° angle, with the knee bent slightly and facing the same direction. In the case of of a 45° Cat Stance, only the rear foot moves inward to a 45° angle, the knee is still bent and now also facing 45°.
