From Martial Arts Wiki
Kenpo Karate Is a system of martial arts in America created by Ed Parker. Often you may see the word Karate used following Kenpo. Although Karate is an art all its own, it has no ties to Kenpo. Several martial arts instructors have placed them together for business reasons. The word Karate has become a generic term for all martial arts. For the layperson it would be incorrect to think these two highly awesome arts could harmonize together and function as one. Karate Concepts, Principles and Ideas of movement are the complete opposites of Kenpo.
I come to you with only Karate, empty hands. I have no weapons, but should I be forced to defend myself, my principles or my honor; should it be a matter of life or death, of right or wrong; then here are my weapons, Karate, my empty hands.
