Free-Hand Custom IKKA Kenpo Logo On Glass - 1979

Paul Airhart painted the IKKA Crest - 1979

In 1979 Kenpo Karate instructor Frank Argelander would commission Paul Airhart to paint the Ed Parker IKKA Crest on the front window of his Glendora California studio. Artist Airhart challenge, was that each part of the Kenpo Karate Crest had to be painted backwards and each item, such as the "Dragon" and "Tiger" would have to be painted first then allowed to dry before the next layer could be applied. Ed Parker would visit the studio and meet the artist Paul Airhart remarking; "What a great job brother" in Hawaiian "Pigin" no-doubt.
